They had an Air Force Officer come to present their ROTC scholarship awards at their high school awards ceremony- it was great to see them honored for their hard work in front of the school!

Rothenburg and Nymphenburg Castle

This was where we went today (Tuesday, July 15th): Nymphenburg Castle: me and my roommate had just gotten the keys to our new home :)

This city is still in its original Medeival condition, and it's beautiful. We spent one day here (last saturday, and it wasn't enough! We walked the wall around the city on the wall which defended the city, it was a really neat way to see the city, and then we walked around in shops and ate lunch there.

But they still have modern people living (and riding mopeds!) in the city!

On Friday, we went back to Starnberger Sea for the afternoon, and it was lovely again! This is Jacqui and I again at the beach!

Weekend fun

A few days ago we went to the Royal Residence, which was really cool! It had many of the royal jewels and neat furniture

One saturday we spent the day at Starnberger Sea, it was a perfectly beautiful day, and the water was so refreshing!

That sunday we hiked up to a Monestary at the top of a mountain which supposedly has the best brewed beer in Bavaria! It was a beautiful hike:

Our first day back in Munich we went to watch the Germany soccer team play in the Europe Finals at the olympic stadium (on a large screen). Even though it was just projected on a screen, the stadium was absolutely full!

Half way done!

Hey everybody! Hope all is well! I'm sorry it's been so long since I last posted! I just put up the pics from Salzburg- it was amazing! We've been back and in school for 2 weeks now (I can hardly believe it!!) We did so much in Salzburg, it felt like we were there for way more than 3 days!
We go to Inlingua language school every morning from 9 to 12:30. The school is great, the teachers are so good that you learn very easily. I'm in class with 6 other people from my trip, and the rest are from many different European countries, so it's neat to get to know them! We usually have a requred outing in the afternoon. We've gone to several museums, palaces, and a few times just to a Sea or something fun like that! In the evenings we hang out with our team, or Jacquelyn and I just talk. Last night we went out with a group of about 25 people for dessert, and we figured out at least 11 countries (and languages) were represented! It was so much fun! We eat dinner and breakfast each day with our host family, and lunch with our team after school. Our host family has two kids, a 13 year old girl, and an 11 year old boy. It is so much fun to eat with them, because we learn what words are 'in' here, and they challenge our conversational skills! :) The family is very sweet God has been so good and blessed me all though the first half of this trip! My teammates are wonderful, and I love my room mate. She makes me laugh about 50 percent of the time we're together! There is so much to tell, but my time is up at the internet cafe! I'm sorry, and I'll update you again soon! Enjoy the pics!

Salzburg part III

The Alps! We took another tram to the top of this mountain, unfortunately it was cloudy at the top, but it was still beautiful! I can't remember the name, something like Untersberg but it meant "the dwarf under the mountain"


The last day in Salzburg, we went to this totally posh cafe :) and got an amazing dessert called a Sachertorte (like chocolate cake) and the best coffee I have EVER tasted!

Salzburg part II

Here's a really old (how's that for specific) building, built into the side of the mountain, where the first Christians in Salzburg held secret meetings, because Christianity was illegal.

This was the chapel where the Christians met- a VERY old room!
From the chapel, we could see the place where they filmed the cemetary scene from the Sound of Music!

We toured Mozart's birth house, which was strangely very modern inside. It was neat to see his very violins, though!
