Look at this amazing street! it's like this everywhere! :)

a smart car!!! i want it :)

Das Neues Rathaus- the new(er) city hall- I was SO excited to see this- today we watched the special "glokenspiel" or clock where figurines dance at noon every day (it's kind've like a really elaborate coocoo clock
inside the neues rathaus

The bathroom door said "frauenpower" or girl power, I just thought it was cooler auf Deutsch

These are from our first walk through the city- wow!

This is one of the three city gates that've been here for (i think) 850 years- munich used to be surrounded by a wall and these gates were part of that- but now they're in the middle of the city!

a fancy shmancy starbucks

Some pics from the 1st day!

These are from our trainride from the airport to Munich
Some houses in the countryside

This is the view from my room at our Youthhostle- isn't it so beautiful!
Here's me and some of my teammates at dinner last night- they all bough pie for my bday! I got Apfelkuchen which was kind've like a mix of apple pie and a pastry-mmmmmm!

First sights of Deutschland!

My first euros- they look like monopoly!

Here's a "staduim" right by the airport where they're going to have a big screen of the Euro games (soccer of course) :) Germany is in the final four!!
the sweet subway (S-Bahn)... we lost one of our group memebers and waited here until our prof found him at the next station!

Resurrected!

This is for those of you who have faithfully checked this blog and I have let you down time and again(Aunt Dee)- I'm sorry. :)

But here- the blog has been resurrected for the time being. This way I can share pics and stories from Germany with everyone!

I'm going for 5 weeks to Munich, Germany, with a team from my school (College of DuPage). We'll be taking language classes and going on excursions to different historic German places (which is how we earn our history credits). I want to ask for everyone's prayers for the trip. I'm really excited, but also nervous not to have the amazing christian support network I have at home! Please pray that I'll be a witness and a servant on the team and that I'll have a learning attitude.

I can't wait to share this trip with you all!

p.s. here are 2 pics from our family reunion: these are my favorite niece and nephew pics! :)
